Confession time.
I don't always finish what I start.
I hate that.
I have great ideas.
She says ever so humbly.
Take my "I will make my own leather service bag" idea.
I know - a great idea!
But leather is expensive, so I wanted to do a test run.
Did you know you can buy scrap leather at craft stores?
You do now.
Scrap leather is really scrappy.
Scraps are scraps for a reason.
Then comes spring cleaning.
Do I toss the bag of leather scraps?
They've been in the closet for a year.
Or two.
What to do?
Keep it and be reminded of failure?
Or throw it away and confirm failure?
Keep it and do something!
Make shoes!
Another light bulb idea, wouldn't you say?
So I traced my feet onto paper.
Pattern done.
I cut out the pieces.
And pasted some pieces together.
Stupid scraps.
Then I stitched them together with my leather awl and waxed thread.
Look how cute!
Everytime I looked at my slippered foot, I laughed with delight.
I showed it off to whoever would look at it.
So much joy.
Will I ever do the left foot?
Or will I break this vicious cycle?
Here's hoping...
